TEHRAN, April 13 (YPA) – Hossein Sadeghi, head of the Media and Public Relations Center at Iran’s Ministry of Education, announced that the number of students and teachers killed has risen to 345, with 222 others injured.
In a statement to Fars News Agency on Monday, Sadeghi said: “Unfortunately, the number of martyred teachers and students has reached 345.”
He explained that the figure includes 278 students—156 boys, 115 girls, five young children, and two young girls—and 67 education sector staff, comprising 12 men, 46 women, six retirees, and three retired female staff members.
He added that 222 teachers and students were wounded in what he described as “U.S.-Zionist attacks,” including 196 students and 26 education workers.
Sadeghi also highlighted the scale of infrastructure damage, noting that 1,108 administrative, cultural, and educational facilities were affected. These included 993 schools, 54 administrative buildings, 17 cultural centers, 36 sports halls, and eight student camps.
