TEHRAN, April 13 (YPA) – Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi said that Tehran and Washington were nearing agreement to end the regional conflict, but talks collapsed amid what he described as shifting US demands.
“In intensive talks at highest level in 47 years, Iran engaged with US in good faith to end war,” Araqchi said in a post on his X account on Monday.

“But when just inches away from ‘Islamabad MoU’, we encountered maximalism, shifting goalposts, and blockade,” the Iranian foreign minister explained.
“Zero lessons earned. Good will begets good will. Enmity begets enmity,” he reminded the US.
Araghchi also criticized what he described as longstanding US policies aimed at subordinating other nations and imposing conditions aligned with its own interests, which he said have contributed to the persistent tensions between Iran and the United States.
