Hamas: Israeli restrictions on aid are flagrant violation of ceasefire deal

GAZA, April 12 (YPA) – Hazem Qassem, spokesperson for Hamas, said on Sunday that Israeli occupation authorities are deliberately escalating measures he described as “engineered starvation” in the Gaza Strip by severely restricting the entry of humanitarian aid, including flour.

In a news statement, Qassem said the limitations violate the terms of the ceasefire agreement, which stipulated specific aid volumes, adding that only a fraction of the agreed quantities had been allowed in.

He also rejected remarks by Nikolay Mladenov, who had stated that aid was entering in accordance with the agreement, describing such claims as inconsistent with conditions on the ground.

Qassem called on mediators, guarantor countries, and parties involved in international efforts to take a clear stance against what he described as a policy of starvation and to act to halt it.
