Hadramout coastal districts hit by severe cooking gas shortage

HARAMOUT, April 11 (YPA) – A severe shortage of cooking gas hit coastal districts of Hadramout over the past week, worsening living conditions for residents.

A local source said the crisis has been exacerbated by armed disruptions along the Marib Road, preventing gas tankers from reaching the Hadramout coast.

He explained that the shortage of domestic cooking gas has worsened citizens’ suffering, placing an even heavier burden on them amid the harsh living conditions, in addition to the ongoing economic crisis and a steep rise in the prices of basic goods.

Residents called on authorities to secure safe corridors for gas transport or provide urgent alternatives, warning of a potential humanitarian crisis if the situation persists.

Separately, journalist Fathi bin Lazrq criticized Saudi-backed forces in Marib, accusing them of failing to secure gas shipments from Safer to Aden and other southern and eastern provinces.
