Gaza death toll mounts to 72,000 as casualties go on to rise

GAZA, April 09 (YPA) – The death toll from Israeli aggression in the Gaza Strip has risen to 72,317, with 172,158 others injured since October 7, 2023, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health.

In its daily report, the ministry said hospitals recorded two additional deaths and 21 injuries over the past 24 hours.

It added that since the ceasefire on October 11, at least 738 people have been killed and 2,036 injured, while 759 bodies have been recovered.

The ministry noted that many victims remain trapped under rubble or in inaccessible areas, as ambulance and civil defense teams continue to face difficulties reaching them.
