STC accuses Saudi Arabia of plotting to dismantle Hadrami Elite Forces

HADRAMOUT, April 08 (YPA) – The “dissolved” Southern Transitional Council (STC) in Hadramout on Wednesday it had uncovered a “malicious plot” by Saudi Arabia in Yemen’s eastern Hadramout province.

In a strongly worded statement, the Hadramout STC accused Saudi Arabia of pursuing a plan to dismantle the UAE-backed Hadrami Elite Forces, established in 2016, and integrate them into the Interior Ministry framework linked to the Islah party.

The council described the alleged steps as posing risks to security and stability in coastal Hadramout, warning they could lead to the return of previously influential factions.

It rejected any changes to the structure or authority of the Hadrami Elite Forces, calling the reported plans a “declaration of war” against the people of Hadramout.

The STC also called on tribal, social, and youth groups to join the mobilization against the “Saudi interference” and to organize demonstrations in response to the reported plans.
