ABU DHABI, April 08 (YPA) – The Abu Dhabi Police announced on Wednesday the arrest of 375 individuals accused of photographing sensitive locations and spreading misleading information on social media in connection with the conflict involving Iran.
In a statement, the police said the detainees had been referred to the public prosecution for legal action in accordance with applicable laws, noting that the violations occurred despite repeated official warnings.
Authorities added that some individuals had disregarded clear instructions related to the handling and circulation of information during the ongoing crisis.
Since the outbreak of hostilities affecting the United Arab Emirates on February 28, Emirati police have detained hundreds of residents on similar charges linked to documenting sites targeted in Iranian strikes.
