BEIRUT, April 08 (YPA) – The Lebanese Ministry of Health announced that dozens of civilians were killed and wounded in an initial toll from Israeli airstrikes on Wednesday on several areas in Lebanon.
Lebanese sources reported that the airstrikes targeted various areas, including Beirut, the Bekaa Valley, and southern Lebanon, resulting in civilian casualties.
In detail, at least 10 people were killed and dozens were injured in an initial count as a result of the attack on the town of Shamshtar in the Bekaa Valley in the east of the country, amid continued search operations for victims under the rubble.
An Israeli airstrike targeting a building in the southern city of Sidon also resulted in a number of casualties. Local sources confirmed that Israeli warplanes also attacked a funeral procession in Shamshtar.
The Lebanese Red Cross announced that 80 people were killed and 200 wounded in the Israeli airstrikes on Beirut.
