Saudi military cargo plane arrives at Aden Airport

ADEN, April 02 (YPA) – A Saudi Royal Air Force cargo aircraft landed at Aden International Airport in the early hours of Thursday, in conjunction with similar foreign military movements on the Yemeni island of Mayyun, south of the Red Sea.

According to a source familiar with the matter, the military transport plane touched down on the airport runway, where technical teams began unloading unknown cargo. The nature and contents of the shipment were not disclosed.

Once unloading was completed, the aircraft departed the airport while the military load was transferred under heavy protection to the Saudi military base in the Al Buraiqeh district, the source added.

According to the source, the past few days have seen a notable increase in Saudi military flight activity, suggesting new security or military arrangements are underway in the region.

The Saudi military movements in Aden coincided with reports that US forces had conducted an unknown military landing operation on the strategic island of Mayyun, located in the Bab el-Mandeb Strait at the southern entrance to the Red Sea.
