Foreign military activities on Mayoun Island in southern Red Sea raise widespread questions

SANAA, April 02 (YPA) – Political sources and media reports have emerged regarding “mysterious” military movements on the Yemeni island of Mayoun, located in the vital Bab al-Mandab Strait.

The Yemeni ambassador of Saudi-backed government to London, Yassin Said Numan, reported an attempted aerial landing by an unidentified aircraft on the island over the past two days, describing these developments as “extremely dangerous.”

Numan suggested the forces might be American before later deleting his statement.

The deletion followed a wave of fierce denials from activists aligned with the UAE-backed factions stationed in the region, sparking widespread controversy over the actual security situation on the strategic island.
