GAZA, April 02 (YPA) – The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza Strip reported on Thursday that the death toll from the ongoing Israeli offensive has risen to 72,289, with 172,043 individuals injured since October 7, 2023.
According to the ministry’s daily statistical report, hospitals recorded three injured over the past 48 hours.
Since the ceasefire began on October 11, the ministry has documented 713 deaths and 1,943 wounded caused by Israeli occupation fire, while 756 bodies have been recovered from beneath the rubble.
The health authorities emphasized that many victims remain trapped under debris or on roads, as ambulance and civil defense crews are still unable to reach them.
Earlier today, local sources reported the death of a Palestinian woman, Rawan Fayyad, who was shot by Israeli forces east of the Maghazi refugee camp in central Gaza. This occurred alongside heavy gunfire from Israeli military vehicles in eastern sectors.
Simultaneously, eastern Gaza City—particularly the Al-Zaytoun neighborhood—faced sustained artillery shelling, while intense gunfire targeted the eastern areas of Al-Bureij camp and Juhor ad-Dik.
