Israeli occupation forces detain man, Gaza workers during raids in Tulkarm

TULKARM, March 29 (YPA) – Israeli occupation forces detained a Palestinian man from the city of Tulkarm early Sunday, along with several workers from the Gaza Strip who were staying in the Ottoman Saraya building in the city center.

Palestinian sources reported that Israeli forces detained Ahmad Hassan Matrouk, 54, after raiding his home on Nablus Street east of the city.

Meanwhile, Israeli forces deployed military reinforcements after midnight to the vicinity of Thabet Thabet roundabout in central Tulkarm and imposed a cordon on the area before storming the Ottoman Saraya building, where they detained several Gaza workers and took them to an unknown location.

Infantry units were also deployed around Jamal Abdel Nasser square, where vehicles were stopped and passengers questioned, while live ammunition was fired intermittently.

Israeli occupation forces also raided the suburb of Dhnaba and the town of Anabta east of Tulkarm, as well as the town of Zeita to the north, storming several homes and ransacking their contents.
