Yemen commemorates “National Steadfastness Day” with massive rallies

SANAA, March 27 (YPA) – Millions of Yemenis took to the streets of the capital, Sanaa, and many other cities as part of million-man rallies held in solidarity with the people of Iran, Lebanon and Palestine and commemorating the “National Day of Steadfastness” and affirming their firm stance in opposition to what they described as a US-Israeli project referred to as ‘Greater Israel.’

The rallies were held under the title, “Steadfast with Palestine, Lebanon, and Iran and ready for all options.”

In a statement issued during the rallies, participants renewed their call for Saudi Arabia to halt its aggressive approach toward Yemen and to disengage from the agendas of the United States, Britain, and Israel, warning that continued policies would place it in confrontation with the entire nation.

The statement affirmed the Yemeni people’s commitment to the Palestinian cause and to defending holy sites until the liberation of Palestine and the end of the occupying entity, adding that any attack on Iran or Lebanon would be regarded as an attack on the entire nation.

The demonstrators declared their full authorization for the leadership to take all escalatory options, while calling on the Yemeni army to raise its level of readiness and preparedness for any field developments.

The statement also called for strengthening awareness among younger generations through summer courses and religious education, and for a return to the teachings of the Qur’an as a guide for society and broader stability.
