Tehran responds to the US proposal to stop war

TEHRAN, March 26 (YPA) – Iran has delivered its response to a 15-point U.S. proposal through intermediaries, Tasnim News Agency reported on Thursday, citing an informed source, adding that Tehran is now awaiting the other party’s reply.

According to the source, Iran emphasized in its response the need to halt aggression and targeted assassinations, establish guarantees preventing any future recurrence of war, and ensure the payment of compensation as part of any potential settlement.

Meanwhile, Reuters quoted a senior Iranian official as describing the proposal—reportedly conveyed via Pakistan—as “one-sided and unfair,” failing to meet even the minimum conditions required for success.

The official added that Iran’s initial response reflects clear reservations about the initiative, stressing that no serious groundwork has yet been laid for negotiations and that the proposed framework for talks appears unrealistic at this stage.
