Two youths drown off Al-Katib beach in Hodeida

HODEIDA – Two young men, Ahmed Hamid Al-Hasami (22) and Asad Hassan Al-Hasami (20), drowned while swimming off Al-Katib beach in Hodeida governorate, northern Yemen.

According to the Coast Guard, both victims were residents of Malhan District in Mahweet governorate.

During the Eid al-Fitr holiday, rescue teams responded to several incidents, successfully saving nine individuals from drowning, while recovering a total of three bodies.

The Coast Guard reiterated its call for beachgoers to exercise extreme caution, swim only in designated areas monitored by rescue teams, and avoid deep or hazardous waters.
