HADRAMOUT, March 25 (YPA) – Informed sources reported on Wednesday that the Saudi-backed “Emergency Forces” camps at the Al-Wade’ah border crossing and various areas of Hadramout valley were struck by violent flash floods and gale-force winds following exceptional storms.
According to initial reports, at least one soldier has been confirmed dead, 40 others injured, and over 100 personnel remain missing after being swept away by the torrents.
Massive destruction of military hardware, including the loss of several military vehicles and the total destruction of hangars and equipment.
Rescue teams are facing extreme difficulties reaching affected areas due to road closures and the continuous flow of floodwaters.
This disaster has sparked local criticism regarding the “fragility” of the camps’ infrastructure and the apparent lack of protective measures against seasonal climate fluctuations.
