HODEIDA, March 25 (YPA) – Seven people were killed and 11 others injured after a Toyota Corolla car collided with a Hilux pickup truck on the main road in “Ad Dahi” district in Hodeida governorate, western Yemen.
According to the district’s traffic police, the collision occurred on Monday afternoon.
The drivers of both vehicles were killed, along with four passengers from the Corolla, including a woman, and a woman traveling in the pickup.
The traffic police said 11 people sustained serious injuries, including four children, with ten of the injured traveling in the pickup.
Authorities attributed the accident to excessive speed by both vehicles, as well as a traffic violation by the Corolla driver.
The police confirmed that the injured were taken to hospitals, the bodies recovered, and legal procedures initiated.
Traffic authorities urged drivers to adhere to road safety rules and avoid speeding to protect lives and property.
