OCCUPIED QUDS, March 23 (YPA) – The Israeli occupation continues today, Monday, to close the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque for the 24th consecutive day under the pretext of declaring a state of emergency in conjunction with the joint US-Israeli aggression against Iran.
Since 1967, the occupation has prevented the holding of Eid prayers inside Al-Aqsa and has attacked worshippers in the streets and points near Al-Aqsa Mosque, while calls continue for the need not to leave Al-Aqsa Mosque alone, especially in light of leaked reports about the settlers’ intention to slaughter the sacrifice in Al-Aqsa.
Calls by extremist Temple Mount groups in the occupied territories to impose the so-called “Passover sacrifice” inside the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound, coinciding with the approach of the Jewish Passover holiday in early April, have sparked widespread fears of a possible attempt to carry out this Talmudic ritual within the holy site.
Observers believe this could constitute a dangerous shift in the nature of the conflict over the Al-Aqsa Mosque and an attempt to impose new religious realities within it.
