Gaza: 9 martyred during Eid al-Fitr as total death toll surpasses 72,000

GAZA, March 23 (YPA) – The Ministry of Health in Gaza Strip announced on Monday that 9 people were martyred and 30 others injured by Israeli occupation fire during the days of Eid al-Fitr, marking a continuation of attacks despite the religious holiday.

In its latest statement, the ministry provided the following updates:

• Casualties (Since October 11): 687 martyrs and 1,845 injured, in addition to the recovery of 756 bodies from under the rubble.
• Total Toll: The overall number of victims from the ongoing aggression on the Strip has risen to 72,263 martyrs and 171,944 injured.

The ministry warned of a worsening humanitarian catastrophe and the collapse of health conditions due to continued escalation and the blockade. It emphasized that the loss of life even during periods of declared calm reflects the scale of the tragedy facing civilians amid severely limited medical resources.
