Kurdish civilians in Afrin harassed during Nowruz celebrations

DAMASCUS, March 21 (YPA) – The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) reported that Kurdish civilians in the city of Afrin in northwestern Syria were subjected to harassment and violations during Nowruz celebrations.

The (SOHR) stated that a security patrol belonging to the Ministry of Interior of the Syrian Interim Government arrested two Kurdish youths on Friday evening during the festivities.

At the same time, unidentified individuals reportedly took advantage of the celebratory atmosphere to break into and steal from several homes, highlighting the fragile security situation in the city.
