OCCUPIED QUDS, (YPA) – Israeli occupation government has sharply criticized Russia, accusing it of siding with Iran and ignoring attacks on Israeli forces.
The criticism comes after Israel’s ambassador in Moscow was summoned following an Israeli airstrike in southern Lebanon that wounded journalists working for the Russian state broadcaster RT.
Meanwhile, Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that its ambassador to Russia, Oded Joseph, was summoned for a meeting with Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Georgy Borisenko following an Israeli strike in Lebanon that injured a correspondent and crew from the Russian state broadcaster RT.
During the meeting, Joseph emphasized that prior warning had been issued regarding IDF activity in the area of the incident. The strike occurred near the Qasmiya crossing on the Litani River in southern Lebanon, a region where ongoing military operations are underway.
Joseph firmly rejected claims that the incident constituted a deliberate attack on journalists.
Footage from the site showed a missile landing close to the journalists, despite their wearing clearly marked press vests, prompting widespread criticism.
For her part, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova described attack on the journalists was deliberate and targeted , accusing “Israel” of a “a gross violation of international law”.
Moscow has demanded a thorough investigation, accountability for those responsible, and measures to prevent similar attacks, highlighting rising political tensions between the two countries amid ongoing military developments in the region.
