Senior US security official who resigned in protest against war on Iran is under investigation
WASHINGTON, March 20 (YPA) – The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has opened an investigation into a high-ranking security official who recently resigned over the war against Iran, according to informed sources.
Sources revealed to the “Semaphore” website that senior security official Joe Kent, who resigned because of the war on Iran, is under investigation for leaking classified information.
The sources added that the investigation began before his resignation from his position as director of the “National Counter-Terrorism Center” last Tuesday.
Joe Kitt announced his decision via his X account, saying: “After careful consideration, I have decided to resign from my position as Director of the National Counter Terrorism Center.”
He added, “I cannot support the ongoing war in Iran with a clear conscience. Iran did not pose any direct threat to our country, and it is clear that we started this war under pressure from Israel and powerful American lobbying groups.”
