TEHRAN, March 19 (YPA) – Brigadier General Hamid Hadavand, commander of the internal security forces in Alborz province west of Tehran, announced on Thursday that 41 individuals accused of being “spies for the American-Israeli enemy” had been identified, monitored, and arrested in separate security operations.
In a statement cited by Iran’s Tasnim News Agency, Hadavand said the arrests followed the tracking of videos broadcast on hostile satellite channels abroad that allegedly revealed the locations of “security defenders.” Security forces then launched surveillance operations that led to the suspects’ detention on charges of treason.
He added that authorities confiscated technical equipment from the detainees, including Starlink satellite internet receivers, radio communication devices, and advanced electronic chips.
Hadavand also noted that weapons were seized during the operations, including two rifles and Kalashnikov magazines, and confirmed the arrest of five additional individuals allegedly linked to related armed activities.
