JAKARTA, March 18 (YPA) – Indonesia has suspended its plans to deploy troops to the Gaza Strip, citing escalating US-Israeli aggression in the region.
The move underscores the difficulties facing transitional arrangements in the territory.
“Everything is on hold,” Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi said after a coordination meeting at the Defense Ministry, Antara News reported on Wednesday.
He cited the escalating regional security situation as the main reason for the indefinite delay in joining the International Stabilization Force (ISF) mission
Jakarta had pledged the troops for deployment under the International Stabilization Force (ISF) to the devastated Palestinian enclave of Gaza.
The Indonesian decision comes amid growing political and operational complexities, casting further uncertainty over post-conflict arrangements in Gaza and highlighting real challenges in implementing international plans on the ground.
