Son of Israeli Minister Bezalel Smotrich killed in Lebanon border operations

QUDS, March 10 (YPA) – The eldest son of Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich was killed after succumbing to wounds he sustained while participating in ongoing military operations along the Lebanese border, media sources reported on Tuesday,

The sources said the deceased was the oldest of Smotrich’s seven sons. Reports of his injury prior to his death drew widespread attention among Israeli settlers and within the Zionist religious movement led by his father, as he was seen as part of a new generation of settlement figures involved in frontline military activity.

The minister’s son grew up in the Kedumim settlement in the occupied West Bank, built on land belonging to Palestinian residents and considered one of the longstanding strongholds of the settlement movement.

He received both his military and religious education through the Hasidic school system, which is known for combining intensive study of biblical texts with active military service in frontline combat units. This educational framework emphasizes the idea of military engagement as part of a broader religious duty.
