Gold prices surge in Yemen amid regional market disparities

SANAA, March 10 (YPA) – Gold prices in Yemeni markets recorded new, varying increases this Tuesday between Sanaa and Aden, continuing an upward trend that began at the start of the year.

In Sanaa, the price for 21-karat gold rose to 78,500 YER per gram, reflecting a 1,000 YER increase within 24 hours, while the gold coin (sovereign) stabilized at 604,000 YER.

In Aden, markets saw a sharper jump, with 21-karat gold reaching 237,800 YER per gram. The gold coin hit 1,816,000 YER, marking a daily surge of over 12,000 YER.

This latest hike follows a period of extreme volatility in February and record-breaking peaks in January, as instability continues to impact jewelry markets across various governorates.
