TAIZ, March 09 (YPA) -Dozens of wounded fighters loyal to the Saudi-led coalition held a protest on Sunday evening in the Yemeni city of Taiz, demanding the payment of their financial entitlements amid continued silence from the Saudi-backed government regarding their situation.
The wounded soldiers gathered outside the Social Welfare Office on the Jamal Street, expressing frustration over the government’s neglect of their demands and the ongoing suffering of wounded personnel.
Protesters said the demonstration came in response to delays in the payment of their financial entitlements and the failure to provide adequate medical care for amputees and those suffering permanent disabilities. Many said they are now facing severe economic and health conditions.
The demonstrators called on the Saudi-backed government to address the prolonged neglect and to urgently resolve their situation.
They stressed that their rights are not a “gift from anyone” and warned they would escalate their protests if their demands are not met, particularly as the Eid al-Fitr holiday approaches.
