ADEN, March 09 (YPA) -Large military reinforcements from the Saudi-backed “Dera Al-Watan” forces have arrived in Yemen’s southern port city of Aden over the past several hours.
A local source familiar with the developments said the forces belong to the so-called “Third Division” of Saudi-backed “Dera Al-Watan” factions and entered Yemen through the Al-Wadiah border crossing.
According to the source, the deployment is intended to secure the expected return of Presidential Leadership Council chief Rashad Al-Alimi from Riyadh to Aden ahead of Eid al-Fitr. Al-Alimi has reportedly been outside the city since late December.
The source added that the newly deployed forces will focus on protecting key facilities and government institutions while raising security readiness to confront any potential unrest, including possible demonstrations by supporters of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) demanding the departure of the Saudi-backed government.
