Trump welcomes Netanyahu to White House; Iran and Gaza top agenda

WASHINGTON, Feb. 11 (YPA) – U.S. President Donald Trump is set to receive Israeli occupation’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House on Wednesday.
This high-profile summit aims to coordinate positions regarding escalating tensions with Iran and the future of the situation in the Gaza Strip.

Netanyahu is seeking to pressure Washington to expand negotiations with Tehran to include its “ballistic missile program” and “support for armed groups,” moving beyond just the nuclear issue—a demand Iran categorically rejects.

The visit comes amid Trump’s hints at potential military strikes and the strengthening of the U.S. naval presence with an additional aircraft carrier to enforce a “no missiles, no nuclear weapons” agreement.

The summit seeks to evaluate the outcomes of the recent nuclear talks held in Oman, amid diplomatic hopes tempered by fears of the region sliding into a full-scale confrontation.

The two sides will discuss ceasefire plans and reconstruction efforts, despite ongoing disagreements over the “disarmament of Hamas” and the future of a Palestinian state.

This marks Netanyahu’s seventh visit since Trump returned to power approximately a year ago, reflecting a close alliance despite emerging differences regarding settlement policies and a comprehensive political solution.
