ADEN, Feb. 08 (YPA) – Dozens of students of the twenty-fourth cohort at the Higher Institute of the Judiciary in Aden city, south of Yemen, organized a protest rally on Sunday in front of the headquarters of the Supreme Judicial Council, denouncing the continued neglect of their financial rights and their exclusion from the disbursement of the “Saudi grant” allocated to the judiciary.
During the rally, participants chanted slogans affirming that they are an integral part of the judicial authority, emphasizing that they hold judicial—not administrative—financial classifications. This status, they said, entitles them legally to benefit from grants and financial dues on equal footing with their counterparts in courts and prosecution offices, without discrimination.
The protesters called for the immediate disbursement of their financial entitlements from the Saudi-funded judiciary grant, an end to what they described as unjust discrimination among members of the same judicial authority, and the activation of their financial rights in accordance with their officially recognized judicial status.
The students expressed “deep surprise” at the continued disregard of their demands by the relevant authorities, despite the clarity of their legal position.
They described this neglect as a blatant violation of the principles of justice the authorities be meant to uphold.
The rally stressed that this protest represented only an initial step, affirming the students’ commitment to pursuing all lawful and peaceful means of protest to ensure their rights be fairly recognized and their situation resolved justly.
