From Sanaa to Mexico: Yemeni brothers embark on cycling journey to World Cup 2026

SANAA, Feb. 07 (YPA) – In a unique youth initiative showcasing pure willpower, brothers Ammar and Amr Al-Ansi are preparing to launch an extraordinary journey by bicycle, starting from the capital, Sana’a, all the way to Mexico City to attend the opening of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The brothers have invited the public to join them for the send-off event on Monday, February 9th at 3:00 PM (Sanaa local time, in front of “Haraz Coffee” – Sefr Street – Sanaa.

Al-Ansi brothers emphasized that this journey is more than just a trip; it is a message of hope and persistence from Yemeni youth to the world. They are determined to cross continents without using any motorized transportation, aiming to represent the Yemeni spirit at the world’s largest football tournament.

This initiative blends athletic endurance with a human message, as the brothers rely on the moral support of the public to overcome the challenges of the long road ahead, aiming to reach Mexico just in time for the World Cup’s opening ceremony.
