SANAA, Feb. 06 (YPA) -The National Center for Meteorology and Early Warning renewed its warnings on Friday for citizens in the highland and interior plateau regions, cautioning of cold to relatively cold weather during the night and early morning hours.
In its weather bulletin, the center also warned fishermen, sea-goers, and ship captains along the southern Red Sea coast and the Bab al-Mandeb Strait of rough seas and high waves
According to the center, light, scattered rain may fall over parts of the western and southwestern highlands during the afternoon and evening.
Cold weather will affect Saada, Amran, Sanaa, Dhamar, Bayda, northern Ibb, and Lahj. It will also affect the plateaus of Shabwa, Hadramout, and Mahra. Relatively cold weather is expected in western Jawf, Hajjah, Mahwit, Raymah, Taiz, Dhalea, and Abyan.
Coastal areas will see clear to partly cloudy skies. Strong to very strong winds are expected along the southern Red Sea coast and the Bab al-Mandeb Strait, reaching up to 32 knots. This may cause rough seas, high waves, and dust and sandstorms.
Desert areas will have mostly clear weather. Temperatures will be cold at night and early morning. Winds may become active at times and raise dust and sand.
The center advised fishermen, sailors, and ship captains in the southern Red Sea and Bab al-Mandeb to be careful because of rough seas.
It urged people to take precautions and follow weather updates for safety.
