Casualties reported in ambush targeting STC forces in Abyan

ABYAN, Feb. 01 (YPA) – Several members of the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council’s (STC) 6th Brigade were wounded on Sunday in an ambush target them in the Al-Mahfad district of Abyan province, southern Yemen.
Local media outlets reported that the patrol was intercepted by armed elements, with preliminary indicators suggesting Al-Qaeda organization’s involvement in the attack.

The incident underscores the persistent security challenges and the escalating insurgency tactics faced by forces in the region.
