RABAT, Jan. 28 (YPA) – A protest was held in the Moroccan border area of Ben Djerrah, near the Algerian frontier and administratively part of the city of Oujda in northeastern Morocco, to condemn the raising of the Israeli flag by a Jewish tourist.
The protest, organized by civil society groups, including the National Action Group for Palestine and the Moroccan Front in Support of Palestine, days after the incident involving the display of the Israeli flag in the border region.
They chanted slogans expressing support for the Palestinian cause and condemning the tourist’s actions.
Protesters carried placards denouncing the display of the Israeli flag on Moroccan territory and reaffirming popular support for the Palestinian cause.
The organizers said the protest aimed at reaffirming Morocco’s support for the Palestinian cause and reject any actions seen as violating national sovereignty or provoking public sentiment.
