UN warns settler attacks undermining Palestinian presence in West Bank

WEST BANK, Jan. 28 (YPA) -The United Nations Office for Human Rights has warned that Israeli-backed settler violence is directly undermining the Palestinian presence in strategic areas of the West Bank.

In a statement issued Wednesday, the office noted that settlers carried out 10 serious attacks across various parts of the West Bank between last Friday and Sunday.

The statement emphasized that the forcible transfer of Palestinians within the West Bank constitutes a war crime and may amount to a crime against humanity under international law.

The UN office stressed that Israel must end its illegal presence in the occupied Palestinian territories and halt all forms of settlement expansion.
