MOGADISHU, Jan. 27 (YPA) – The Somali Minister of Foreign Affairs, Abdisalam Abdi Ali, has reaffirmed Somalia’s status as a fully sovereign state, emphasizing that its territorial integrity remains unalterable by external factors.
In a press statement, the Somali minister highlighted that the government is spearheading intensive diplomatic efforts to safeguard internationally recognized national borders.
Ali declared a categorical rejection of any forced displacement or relocation of the Palestinian people. “We will not permit the displacement of Palestinians to Somali soil,” he stated, adding that any attempts to facilitate migration or establish military bases for such purposes are “entirely unacceptable.”
Regarding recent developments, the minister noted that 30 days after the “controversial decisions,” no international organization has recognized the so-called “Somaliland.” He further asserted that statements made by Israeli occupation leaders (Netanyahu) would not change the reality of Somalia’s borders.
He warned that any threat to the security of the Red Sea region would disrupt international trade and create a breeding ground for terrorism, stressing that regional stability is inherently linked to respecting state sovereignty.
The minister concluded by reflecting on Somalia’s three decades of conflict, stating that the nation now seeks the support of its allies to build a stable and unified state. Current diplomatic priorities, he noted, are focused primarily on protecting the unity of Somali territory from any foreign interference.
