Lebanese citizen killed due to Israeli air attack at southern Lebanon

SANAA, Jan. 25 (YPA) – A Lebanese civilian was killed on Sunday in an Israeli airstrike on Khirbet Selm town in southern Lebanon, as part of a broader military escalation that included airstrikes and attacks by warplanes and drones on various areas in the south and Bekaa valley in the east of the country.
 
The National News Agency reported that the airstrike that killed the citizen targeted a hangar inside the town of Khirbet Selm, denying earlier reports that the outskirts of the towns of Kfardounine and Bir al-Salasil had been targeted.
 
In a related context, Israeli warplanes carried out an airstrike targeting the outskirts of Nabi Sheet town in Bekaa valley, specifically in Shaara area within the eastern mountain range.
 
In addition, an Israeli drone also dropped two sonic bombs on Dhahira town of Tyre district in the south of the country, simultaneously dropping similar sonic bombs on the town of Aita al-Shaab in Bint Jbeil district.
 
The National News Agency indicated that the Israeli raids focused on the mountainous and barren areas of eastern Lebanon, in addition to scattered attacks targeting villages and towns in the south, amid a continuing escalation in the Lebanese border regions.
