ABU DHABI, Jan. 19 (YPA) -The United Arab Emirates has on Monday warned that its relations with Saudi Arabia had reached a very serious stage, coinciding with a surge in reciprocal media attacks between the two countries.
The UAE called for an urgent Gulf meeting to discuss de-escalation.
Abdulkhaleq Abdullah, a former adviser to UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed, wrote on X that “The meeting should be held at the level of information ministers and aim to halt the provocative rhetoric that has gone too far.”

The call came as Saudi Arabia intensified its verbal attacks on the UAE, accusing it of actions threatening its national security.
Official Saudi media outlets published wide-ranging accusations against the UAE, claiming it opposed Saudi interests, alongside warnings of potential measures.
Following the campaign, Saudi Arabia shut the Al-Batha land crossing with the UAE, which observers viewed as a signal of growing confrontation with Abu Dhabi.
