GAZA, Sept. 05 (YPA) – Israeli occupation forces committed eight new violations of the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip since early Saturday, carrying out artillery shelling and opening fire from military aircraft, naval vessels, and ground forces, with most of the incidents reported in Gaza City.
A Palestinian was wounded by Israeli gunfire in the Al-Sudaniya area, northwest of Gaza City. Meanwhile, Israeli artillery repeatedly shelled the vicinity of Al-Sanafour junction in the Al-Tuffah neighborhood and other eastern areas of the city.
Palestinian sources reported that Israeli quadcopter drones opened fire toward homes near Al-Sanafour junction, while Israeli military vehicles fired toward Mishtaha and Al-Qaqaa streets in the Shuja’iyya neighborhood and the Al-Tuffah area. Heavy artillery and gunfire were also reported around Al-Shawa Square and Mishtaha Street near Al-Sanafour junction.
Meanwhile, Israeli tanks fired heavily south of Khan Younis, while Israeli warboats opened fire offshore in the waters off the southern Gaza Strip.
The latest violations come despite the ceasefire agreement reached on October 10, 2025, in the Egyptian resort city of Sharm El-Sheikh under Arab and US mediation, as well as US President Donald Trump’s July 31, 2026 announcement of a “new agreement” to launch the second phase of the Gaza “road map.”
