Egypt sends 117th aid convoy to Gaza carrying thousands of tons of supplies

GAZA, Jan. 15 (YPA) – The Egyptian Red Crescent on Thursday launched the 117th aid convoy titled “Zad Al-Izza… From Egypt to Gaza,” consisting of a number of trucks carrying urgent humanitarian assistance bound for the Gaza Strip.

This comes as part of its ongoing efforts as the national mechanism for coordinating aid delivery to Gaza.

Media sources stated that the convoy is carrying thousands of tons of comprehensive humanitarian aid, including food parcels, 1,000 tons of flour, medical and relief supplies, personal care items, large quantities of water, and petroleum materials.

In response to the severe weather conditions and the low-pressure system affecting the Gaza Strip, the Egyptian Red Crescent has intensified the delivery of essential winter supplies to Gaza, dispatching thousands of winter clothing items and blankets, as well as hundreds of tents to shelter those affected. This is part of Egypt’s continued efforts to support the people of Gaza.

It is worth noting that the “Zad Al-Izza… From Egypt to Gaza” convoy was first launched by the Egyptian Red Crescent on July 27, 2025, carrying thousands of tons of aid, including food supply chains, flour, infant formula, medical supplies, therapeutic medicines, personal care items, and large quantities of fuel.

The Egyptian Red Crescent has been present at the border as the national mechanism for coordinating and dispatching aid to Gaza since the beginning of the crisis.

The Rafah crossing has never been fully closed from the Egyptian side, and the organization has maintained a state of readiness across all logistical centers.  Its continuous efforts have enabled the entry of more than half a million tons of humanitarian and relief aid, supported by the work of 65,000 volunteers from the association.
