Israeli occupation continues its violations in Gaza despite US announcement of second phase

GAZA, Jan. 15 (YPA) – The Israeli occupation army continues its violations of the ceasefire agreement on its 97th day across various areas of the Gaza Strip, despite US envoy Steve Witkoff announcing the launch of the second phase of President Donald Trump’s 20-point plan to end the war in the enclave.

According to Palestinian sources, Israeli occupation forces Occupation forces carried out demolitions of residential buildings east of the Jabalia refugee camp in northern Gaza.

Israeli warplanes launched an airstrike east of the Al-Tuffah neighborhood, while artillery shelling continued east of Gaza City. Artillery also targeted areas east of the Al-Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza.

The Gaza Health Ministry said the death toll has reached 71,439 martyrs, with 1,717,324 injured since the start of the aggression on October 7, 2023.

Steve Witkoff said the second phase of the plan aims to move from a ceasefire to full disarmament, the establishment of a Palestinian technocratic administration, and the start of reconstruction efforts.

He said the plan calls for the formation of a transitional technocratic administration in Gaza, to be known as the “National Committee for Gaza Administration,” and the full disarmament of all unauthorized armed groups.
