Israeli occupation forces force Palestinians to strip at checkpoint east of Ramallah

OCCUPIED PALESTINE, Jan. 14 (YPA) – Israeli occupation forces detained and arrested, on Wednesday, three Palestinian citizens at a military checkpoint east of Ramallah, in a new incident reflecting the escalating violations against civilians coinciding with the cold weather conditions affecting the region.

Palestinian media reported that occupation soldiers stationed at the military checkpoint, which has been in place for three days near Carmelo Junction and the village of Taybeh, stopped the three citizens and detained them for several hours.

The occupation forces subjected the detainees to humiliating procedures, including forcing them to remove their clothes in the extreme cold, in addition to assaulting them physically, before taking them to an unknown location, the sources added.

Human rights organizations warned of the seriousness of these practices, which constitute a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law, especially given the impact of a low-pressure system on the Palestinian highlands, which could expose the detainees to serious health risks.
