Trump signs executive order to withdraw US from 66 international organizations

WASHINGTON, Jan. 08 (YPA) – US President Donald Trump has signed an executive order withdrawing the United States from 66 international organizations, including 31 United Nations agencies.

In a statement released Wednesday evening, the White House said Trump signed an order withdrawing from 66 international organizations that “no longer serve US interests.”

According to the statement, the decision was made because “these international organizations act in ways that are contrary to US national interests.”

The statement did not specify which organizations are included in the withdrawal.

In the early days of his second presidential term, which began on January 20, 2025, President Trump withdrew the United States from the Paris Climate Agreement and the UN Human Rights Council, and halted funding to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA).
