At least four killed in separate shootings in occupied Palestine

OCCUPIED PALESTINE, Jan. 07 (YPA) – At least four people were killed in two separate shooting incidents in the city of Shefa-Amr and the village of Ar’ara in the Negev, inside the 1948 territories, on Wednesday morning.

In Shefa-Amr, three people aged between 35 and 50 were killed in a shooting incident that took place in the Osman neighborhood.

In Ar’ara in the Negev, a medical student was killed in a separate shooting while paying a short visit to his family, having arrived from Georgia where he was studying medicine.

Violent crime and killings continue to escalate within the Arab community at an alarming pace. Since the beginning of the current year, and within less than a week, 11 murder cases have been recorded, indicating a dangerous intensification of the phenomenon.

The year 2025 recorded an unprecedented toll in murder cases, with 252 Arab victims. It also witnessed the highest number of femicides, with 23 women killed, in addition to 12 murders of minors under the age of 18, as well as victims killed by stray bullets, fatal mistakes, or during Israeli police interventions, reflecting a daily reality of expanding violence.
