Saudi warplanes overfly Sayoun amid military tensions

HADRAMOUT, Jan. 03 (YPA) – Local sources reported on Saturday that Saudi fighter jets have intensified their overflights in the skies of Sayoun city, the administrative center of the Hadramout province, eastern Yemen.

According to the sources, Saudi jets were observed flying at low altitudes over the “Al-Adawas” military camp, which overlooks the city. The camp remains a flashpoint as forces affiliated with the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) continue to occupy the site, refusing to hand it over to Saudi-backed “Dera Al-Watan” factions.

The same sources confirmed that Sayoun has witnessed a series of explosions over the past few hours resulting from these localized airstrikes.
