Sanaa Health Ministry, MSF discuss strengthening medical cooperation

SANAA, Dec. 29 (YPA) – The Minister of Health and Environment, Dr. Ali Shaiban, met on Monday in Sanaa with representatives from Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) missions—including the French, Swiss, and Spanish branches—to address the critical challenges facing the health sector and the progress of humanitarian projects across Yemen regions.

During the discussions, Dr. Shaiban praised MSF’s vital humanitarian role in supporting medical services despite the severe damage sustained by the healthcare infrastructure. He emphasized the importance of fostering a stronger partnership to alleviate the suffering of patients, reaffirming the Ministry’s commitment to streamlining procedures and overcoming any obstacles that might hinder the organization’s medical missions.

For their part, the MSF representatives reviewed their ongoing activities and healthcare services provided in multiple regions. They highlighted their continued efforts to support local health facilities and improve the quality of care available to citizens, concluding the meeting with a mutual agreement to enhance coordination for a more effective humanitarian response.
