UAE recruits thousands for Mahra battle

MAHRA, Dec. 28 (YPA) – The UAE on Sunday delivered a new resounding slap to Saudi Arabia in the province of Mahra, eastern Yemen, in light of the escalating tensions between the two poles of the alliance.

The UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) officially announced the start of the recruitment process the so-called of Skilled Elite Forces” announced by the STC earlier in order to deploy them in the province to consolidate their control over it and counter any Saudi attempts to regain it.

The process is an open Emirati disregard for the Saudi threats, which gave the STC a 72-hour deadline to withdraw its forces from the provinces of Hadramout and Mahra.

The recruitment process in Mahra also comes in light of the STC strengthening its forces in the Valley and desert directorates of Hadramout province, defying Saudi threats and pressures.
