HADRAMOUT, Dec. 28 (YPA) – Amid rapid developments in Yemen’s eastern provinces, southern political and media activist Adel Al-Hasani said Israeli Mossad officers were present alongside Emirati officers at Al-Rayyan airport in Hadramout province, eastern Yemen.
In a post on X, he described the situation in the province as very dangerous.
Al-Hasani also affirmed that a group of military leaders from the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) held a secret meeting also with Israeli Mossad officers I the same airport.
Al-Hasani said that the Emirati officer ordered the STC to remain in Hadramout and Mahra, noting the support of the “most powerful country in the region,” in an apparent reference to Israeli occupation.
The Emirati officer reportedly justified the move was carried out “to save Saudi Arabia’s face” and manage the political embarrassment Riyadh faces after the STC took control of areas previously considered within Saudi influence in eastern Yemen.

Western media outlets reported that secret contacts are taking place between the Israeli occupation and the STC, with the aim of dividing Yemen, following repeated statements by the leadership of the STC expressing its readiness to normalize relations with the occupation.
In open defiance of repeated Saudi demands, the directives included an order to hand over camps described as “empty” or non-strategic in the Ramah and Thamoud districts of Hadramout to the so-called Saudi-backed Dera al-Watan forces (Homeland Shield).
Al-Hasani added sarcastically that this step was aimed at saving the Saudi Arabia’s face after it was humiliated by the UAE and turned into a laughing stock in front of the world,” noting that the real goal was just to “calm the media atmosphere” through official concessions, without any fundamental change in the actual deployment map or the balance of forces on the ground, in an attempt to absorb Saudi pressure while preserving regional gains.
