SANAA, Dec. 28 (YPA) – The Yemeni House of Representatives in Sanaa formally condemned “Israel’s” recognition of the self-declared “Republic of Somaliland.”
In a statement released on Sunday, the Parliament characterized this move as a violation of Somalia’s sovereignty and independence, asserting that it contravenes international law and United Nations charters.
Expanding on the regional implications, the statement described the recognition as an interference in Somali domestic affairs that threatens the stability of the Horn of Africa and international peace and security.
Consequently, the Parliament called upon Arab and international legislative bodies to pressure their respective governments to reject such interventions, urging the international community to uphold its responsibility in protecting state sovereignty.
Furthermore, the Parliament utilized the statement to reaffirm Yemen’s longstanding support for Arab causes, renewing its call for the enforcement of International Court of Justice (ICJ) rulings to ensure accountability regarding the ongoing conflict in the Gaza Strip.
