SANAA, Dec. 25 (YPA) – Deputy minister of foreign affairs of the Sanaa-based government, Abdul Wahid Abu Rass, met on Thursday with the head of the ICRC mission in Sanaa, Christine Chipola.
In the meeting, the latest developments related to the prisoners ‘ file and areas of cooperation between Yemen and the ICRC were discussed.
During the meeting, Abu Rass appreciated the role played by the ICRC delegation in the success of the prisoner exchange agreement that took place in the Omani capital Muscat.
He hoped that the agreement would contribute to moving forward in resolving the rest of the humanitarian issues and pave the way for achieving a successful peace that achieves security and stability for Yemen and the region.
The deputy foreign minister stressed Sanaa’s commitment to translating the agreement into reality and providing all the necessary facilities for its implementation, reiterating the ministry’s readiness to provide all the necessary facilities to the ICRC mission and its staff.
For her part, Christine Chipola confirmed the readiness of the delegation to contribute to the implementation of the agreement by transferring the released and returning them to their families.
She reiterated that the mission would continue to provide all possible aspects of support to the Yemeni people, praising the existing cooperation with the ministry of foreign affairs and the relevant government agencies.
